Project update

Hi everyone:)

I just wanted to give a little update on how the project is going. Well, it's going great! The project will be finished by July 23. I'm looking forward to sharing it with everyone. Also, I wanted to point out that if you have any interesting facts or opinions on why you think women are self-conscious due to social media, please email me. I would be happy to add it into my project! I'm very open to everything during the project and I especially want all the feedback possible from women in the area.

Popular social media sites among women in our area

During this project, I've created a survey asking different questions about social media. Over 100 women in the area have taken the survey. One of the questions was, "Which social media site do you use most frequently?" After asking this question, I've concluded that Facebook and Instagram are the most popular. Twitter and Tumblr are far behind on the popularity scale, however they still play a huge role in affecting self-esteem among those who use the sites. This graph, along with others made from the survey will be found on my project when it's completed. I just wanted to give everyone a taste of how much social media plays a role in women's everyday life. Also, these four social media sites are the ones I will be focusing on during my project.

Michigan Women's Media Project

I'm so excited to share the multimedia project I've been working on over the past few weeks. As I complete different elements of the project, I will be posting them here. This way, everyone can keep up with the work I've been doing. The project is titled "Women and Social Media." It has to do with the struggles women in our area are having due to social media. It also has a lot to do with how social media can affect women's self-esteem. I love this topic because it's something I feel every woman can relate to.
